It's a sign of how far flat modular belts have come that we are now offering heavy duty versions for use as pallet conveyors.
These plastic modular belts have traditionally been used for relatively narrow belt orientated applications, but new belt and structural technologies now enable manufacturers to use these hard wearing belts to transport heavy loads.
In the picture attached you can see a modular belt conveyor used as a pallet transport system in a furniture factory.
One benefit of these modular belts is that they can be used in clean applications where stainless steel rollers for example would be an expensive option.
As the belt materials on some belt versions can be FDA approved, they are suitable for food and clean room applications.
Another less obvious benefit of these modular belts is that these conveyors can be used where pallet bases can be sometimes damaged or in poor condition as the belt surface is completely flat.
Another beneficial scenario is where the pallets are not of uniform construction, size or pattern on the base, a common problem with fixed roller pitch roller based systems.
