We are selling more and more used conveyors, maybe it's a sign of the times out there?
There are definite benefits in buying used conveyor systems, both roller and belt conveyors.
The purchase price is lower than a new or reconditioned unit as you would expect, but delivery is also immediate as the conveyor is in stock!
If you are in the market for a conveyor but with a budget only sufficient for a used conveyor system, you need to be flexible.
Face it, the chances of getting exactly what you are looking for are slim, but with a little flexibility on both sides we are often able to fit up the customer with a bargain conveying solution that does the job for them.
We want our customer to be happy with their used belt or roller conveyor and because these conveyors don't carry a "Warranty" as such, they are fully tested before despatch and basic parts replaced if needed.
The difference between a conveyor that has had only light use and one that has done several rounds with heavyweight product can usually be seen right away by the paint finish, especially where product guides are present.
Other signs are excessive wear to the belt on the surface and at the edges of the belt where tracking problems are visible.
The motor and the drive rollers are also checked out for movement and excessive noise that may point to wear.
The conveyor in the photo, sold this week, has castors on the legs, the customer in this case actually wanted the conveyor to be mobile, so it was perfect.
The width was a little wider than the customer needed and the length a little longer, but that's the game with used conveyors.
Stand systems are usually in the 850mm high area so these are less of a problem.
The price was £1875.00 for the conveyor shown. At 3M long with a 500mm wide belt and stands with castors, a variable speed controller and side guides, you would normally expect to pay around £3000.00 for this conveyor new.
