Here's an interesting photo that illustrates the cleaning features found on Dorner's stainless steel belt conveyors that may not be found on all conveyors.
The stainless frame has cutout areas along the length to allow cleaning inside the frame with the belt still in situ. Also, the tail end has a tip up roller, this slackens the belt so that it can be manoeuvred and removed more easily, on some models this can be done without any tools so that any operator can clean the conveyor without assistance from an engineer. Also on show here are the two belt lifters, one at the tail and one at the drive end. These lift the belt to allow access for cleaning equipment. This photos also illustrates the low friction wearstrips that the belt runs on, not a bed plate as some conveyors have, the idea being to have the frame as open as possible to make thorough cleaning a doddle. The belt is the food grade toothed type too, this gives superior traction in wet environments. Lastly, the motor is completely stainless. These features show why we say Dorner conveyors are truly "Fit and forget".
