Flexmove have just introduced driven  bridge modules for it's range of slat conveyors.

Sometimes when 2 plastic chain  conveyors meet end to end there is a gap between the drive end of one slat  conveyor ant the tail end of another.
This is due to the larger drive and  tail end sprocket diameters that these conveyors usually  have.
This situation can also occur when a  conveyor takes products from a belt or roller conveyor or a table top or other  accumulating device.
Small products can struggle to  bridge this gap naturally. There have been gravity roller conveyor based bridges  available in the past, but even with the gravity conveyor bridge some products  can struggle to move over the gap without the next product making contact and  that is not always acceptable where the product may be fragile or to have a  product stranded on the bridge at the end of a process may be  undesirable.
These new driven bridge options  involve taking a drive from the main drive shaft or tail sprocket and using this  to power 2 small rollers on the bridge, thereby creating a powered bridge that  will power the products over the gap.
More details about the different  types for the different series of slat conveyors are to  follow.
