With Flexmove slat conveyors the individual lanes can be positioned very close to each other. When the conveyors are placed so close, it makes it much easier to transfer products from one lane on a slat conveyor to the other than for alternative types of conveyor where bearing housings and other conveyor parts get in the way. This close lane arrangement can be assisted by the use of transfer plates that can be placed between the lanes to encourage parts to change over from one lane o the other. Larger parts can change lane unassisted when side guides are used. Another option is to use diverters like the 3 way diverter shown in the photo. This larger version has a pitch between the lanes of a maximum 544mm and takes a part that is on the central lane and with signals sent to the diverter can allow the part to carry on the same lane, or divert it left or right.
