We've talked before about the issue of stability when a plastic bottle is placed on a belt for onward travel.
Often the picking of the bottle from the blow moulding machine is done by a robot or pick and place system.
The customer here had the same problem and we were able to help by creating a vacuum conveyor belt that had the vacuum concentrated in the first 500mm only on the 2M long belt conveyors.
This was because the customer only needed the vacuum to settle the product immediately after it was placed on the belt.
So the rest of the holes on the remaining 1.5M of conveyor were simply closed off. This avoids wasting the volume of the vacuum on the full conveyor length and increases the power of suction in the area where it's needed.
We were happy to help.
